But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now.
This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children. It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment.
This sweltering summer of the Negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. And those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. And there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges. But there is something that I must say to my people, who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice: In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. *We cannot be satisfied as long as the negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their self-hood and robbed of their dignity by a sign stating: "For Whites Only."* We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until "justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream."¹
I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. And some of you have come from areas where your quest -- quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.

Isn’t it time for the Eelam Tamils to reject India and reach out to China?[

The world has begun to tremble. China is on the way to becoming economically the most powerful country in the world. They are not only becoming the most powerful militarily but also from the nuclear aspect they can give a run to the US. They are the biggest creditors of the United States having also absorbed most of the US debts. Unlike in the case of the Soviet Union in the latter twentieth century when it was in decline during the cold war China is on the rise in the 21st century. However, it is in the interests of the Chinese economy to keep the US going lest they lose out on their credit. In this sense it is a cold war. Being the biggest consumer of oil, China have ensured the continuous supply from the biggest producer of oil namely, Russia.
Thanks to the war against the LTTE they have gained a firm foothold in the Indian ocean in Sri Lanka, Hambantota port being part of the string of pearls as part of their geo strategic consolidation of oil traffic which has also helped them militarily.
Their power is being spread around. India has admitted that China have become more powerful than they are in every possible way. It is matter of time that India disintegrates to pre British colonial times. The federation of States will break up into individual independent governments and or States for they have been held together as a nation of Indians centrifugally and artificially brought together by the British. True Federation is a centripetal concept as in the case of the unification of Italy and Germany.India is riddled with corruption with its democracy in decline. Their spineless Prime minister
Manmohan Singh is a puppet of the so called Cambridge scholar Sonia Gandhi having attended an English language school there, whose primary aim is to eventually install her son Rahul (formerly Raoul) and her daughter Priyanka (formerly Bianca), having adopted Hindu names to hold the highest political positions in India. Given the ignorance and the abject poverty of most Indian people and the Hindu chauvinism of the opposing BJP this could eventuate.
In a previous editorial we stated that the magnitude of the corruption in India would be seen in the conduct of their Commonwealth games. True to our word it is now revealed that the organisers owe hundreds of millions of dollars to Australian businesses that were contracted to provide its infrastructure. The latest revelation is the arrest of the former telecommunications minister, Raja, an ally of the ruling congress, who was very close to the DMK in Tamil Nadu for the biggest racket ever in India involving millions of dollars. We are now convinced that they are not only jokers but also bloody thieves.The Chinese are a highly civilised and cultured people affording at least in theory, equality to their fifty two ethnic groups.
Above all, they are largely a secular society with their religious beliefs private to them thanks to Mao, which accounts for their tolerance of other faiths. Buddhism embraced by 70 million of them is shrouded in superstitions. Their relative tolerance is quite in contrast to the barbaric Sinhala Buddhist State that sponsored Pogroms against the Tamil people culminating in the 1983 massacre of thousands of innocent Tamil children and adults for being Tamils. These were nowhere near the Chinese manner of quelling the Muslim Uighurs in Urumqi in the western province of Xin Jiang.
The treatment of the Tibetans has been far more civilised than the manner the Tamils of Sri Lanka have been treated.Given the strong possibility of a military dictatorship of the Rajapakse clan and no return to the democracy, ante 1972, China will very soon take over Sri Lanka politically, economically and socially. It will virtually rule over Sri Lanka which will eventually become their colony/satellite as Burma or even worse. Given the complete breakdown of the Sri Lankan economy and agriculture in their inability to feed the people, China will dump their sub standard produce and products which would be most welcome at ridiculously cheap prices thus competing with the Sri Lankan farmer and producer thus reducing their level of self reliance and the reduction of any level of agricultural development.
The moral strength and the integrity of the peoples and those in power in Sri Lanka are so weak that they will not withstand the overwhelming Chinese economic influence and their social pressures but succumb to its hegemony. The Rajapakse dynasty will be looked after with all privileges and comforts as in Burma and Zimbabwe.Brahma Chellaney, in Behind Sri Lankan Bloodbath (2009), wrote: “Unlike China’s assistance, India’s role has received little international attention. But India, too, contributed to the Sri Lankan bloodbath through its military aid, except that it has ended up, strangely, with its leverage undermined….…….But having been outmanoeuvred by China’s success in extending strategic reach to Sri Lanka in recent years, New Delhi got sucked into providing major assistance to Colombo, lest it lose further ground in Sri Lanka”. Profound as it is, India have indeed lost considerable moral ground amongst the Tamil people.India’s corruption and hypocrisy at all levels in relation to the Sri Lankan Tamils have been revealed in the manner that they have betrayed the Tamils all the way. In the matter of the rebuilding of the of the tens of thousands of the homes of displaced Tamils their statements are so ambivalent that we are not certain whether they would ever provide 50,000 house, repair them, or provide even 5000 houses. No dwelling has been reconstructed by India. As reported in the media in an exclusive meeting with a high-profile team of media heads from Sri Lanka at his office at the Ministry of Defence in New Delhi, Shiva Shankar Menon the national security advisor, revealing Indian hypocrisy in no uncertain terms said: “Sri Lanka should have its own home-grown solutions for the problems of its people in the North and the East and that other parties elsewhere including in Tamil Nadu should not worry if those people are happy…. If that is right, I don’t think the views of either the Tamil Nadu or Tamil Diaspora are important. If the people in Sri Lanka are happy with the solution they get, why should the people in Tamil Nadu worry about it?” (Sunday Observer 12 Dec. 2010).
It is the influence of China in the Kashmiri region that has reduced the severity of human rights abuses against the Muslims there that has strengthened the call for an independent Kashmiri state over which India has absolutely no tangible political or moral claim. Kashmir belongs to the Kashmiri people.Further, In an exclusive interview with a group of media heads from Sri Lanka at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, the Indian Foreign Secretary had Nirupama Rao having watched entire political and economic the profile of Sri Lanka through a window of the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo states: “ Sri Lanka is moving in the right direction after eradicating terrorism…there are “unique opportunities” for Sri Lanka and India after terrorism was defeated by the Security Forces….everybody is enjoying the dividends of peace. “People are moving very freely...I saw from my hotel room people moving freely at the Galle Face Green even at midnight. They are enjoying the freedom to move without any fear….The resettlement of displaced people in the North is “going on in a very constructive manner”. “It appears to be moving in the right direction… we saw that paddy farmers had returned to normal life. This means that the agro industry is catching up. I hope it would be restored soon to its previous level…the number of displaced persons has dropped to under 17,000 and they too would be resettled before the end of this month ?” (Sunday Observer, 12 Dec 2010).It is obvious that the Indians are wont to say what President Rajapakse wants to hear.
President Rajapakse of Sri Lanka though lacking in any finesse, regarded as the least literate of all Sri Lankan Heads of State is, however, an astute wheeler dealer when it comes to turning one bidder against the other in the auction to sell Sri Lankan interests to suit his dynastic ambitions and aspirations to foreign interests. Conceding China’s superiority over them, the Indians are no longer in the race for domination in the Indian Ocean not to mention the world. India in relation to Sri Lanka will soon learn their lesson.In a previous editorial, we advocated that the Sri Lankan Tamils should show their backs to the Indians and woo the Chinese. It is a fact that the Tamils are deliberately denied access to the Chinese but are left at the mercy of India to be looked after.
This is undoubtedly a strategy of the racist Rajapakse government to ensure the slow but certain destruction of the Tamil people and their culture in the very near future and we are certain that India will up to her expectations of the Rajapakse brothers. Malathi de Alwis in her “China Factor’ in post-war Sri Lanka (Inter Asia Cultural Studies), states: “If Eelam Tamils can befriend with Communist China and allow it to use Tamil homeland for mutual benefit Eelam Tamils might get what they want! Eelam Tamil Diaspora can cultivate their relationship with Western powers but they are not going to help the Tamils as they will only listen to India, when it comes to Sri Lanka [sic]. Therefore [sic], the only power that can really make a difference for the Tamils will be China and Tamils should start making contacts with China at the highest level (Gopi 2010)".
The Tamil people both in Sri Lanka and abroad should acknowledge China’s rising tide in the affairs of the world and the Tamils should recognise it to take them at the flood at every opportunity that would to lead on to fortune.We repeat and reiterate what we stated in our editorial of 06 June 2010: “The question that has arisen in many Tamil circles is whether the Tamil people should show their backs to the Indians and turn to support the Chinese as the new strategy, with their children learning Chinese (Mandarin) developing to be a world language to be taught in schools. Furthermore, the plague of Brahminism will no longer haunt the Tamils. They should be pragmatic in turning to the winning side that will bring them more benefits, not wasting their time with India. This was also the view that the late N. Shanmugadasan, a former leader of the Ceylon Communist Party (Peking Wing) and intellectual, advocated in the 1960s and the 1970s as a remedy for the redress of Tamil grievances". It will also be to the advantage of China to make overtures to the Sri Lankan Tamils both within Sri Lanka and abroad. The Tamil Diasporas in turn should reciprocate.

Malathi de Alwis in her “China Factor’ in post-war Sri Lanka (Inter Asia Cultural Studies), states: “If Eelam Tamils can befriend with Communist China and allow it to use Tamil homeland for mutual benefit Eelam Tamils might get what they want! Eelam Tamil Diaspora can cultivate their relationship with Western powers but they are not going to help the Tamils as they will only listen to India, when it comes to Sri Lanka [sic]. Therefore [sic], the only power that can really make a difference for the Tamils will be China and Tamils should start making contacts with China at the highest level (Gopi 2010)".
The Tamil people both in Sri Lanka and abroad should acknowledge China’s rising tide in the affairs of the world and the Tamils should recognise it to take them at the flood at every opportunity that would to lead on to fortune.We repeat and reiterate what we stated in our editorial of 06 June 2010: “The question that has arisen in many Tamil circles is whether the Tamil people should show their backs to the Indians and turn to support the Chinese as the new strategy, with their children learning Chinese (Mandarin) developing to be a world language to be taught in schools. Furthermore, the plague of Brahminism will no longer haunt the Tamils. They should be pragmatic in turning to the winning side that will bring them more benefits, not wasting their time with India. This was also the view that the late N. Shanmugadasan, a former leader of the Ceylon Communist Party (Peking Wing) and intellectual, advocated in the 1960s and the 1970s as a remedy for the redress of Tamil grievances". It will also be to the advantage of China to make overtures to the Sri Lankan Tamils both within Sri Lanka and abroad. The Tamil Diasporas in turn should reciprocate.

Singer Malaysia Vasudevan passes away

Hi all,
Yesterday we have lost a great singer of the century. In his lifetime he had sang more than 8000 songs in various language as well acted in many movies. One of the great thing that I admire of Malaysia Vasudevan is his presistance and hardwork that made him to known in the Entertainment industry in Asia. He had been promoting Malaysia in Tamil Nadu and in India though his name as "Malaysia Vasudevan". His ever green voice was the gift of the GOD. He seek fortune in oversea and promoted Malaysia in many ways there. He visits Malaysia often and did many charity and concerts even telemovie in Msia to promote arts here. The Malaysian government should have recognised his contribution and award him while he was alive. There are many "mushroom" politicians that given Datukship but the real people whom promotes and sacrifies for Malaysia are hardly seen especially if there are Malaysian Indians. Ask thyself what have SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) did to the Msians in general except acting some scene in Malaysian locations, even that the Director decided. I would personally write and urge for Malaysia Vasudevan to be recognised with lifetime award for his contribution.
May his soul rest in peace. His voice will never disappear and we will appreciate his contribution.

CHENNAI: Popular playback singer and actor Malaysia Vasudevan passed away on Sunday afternoon at a private hospital after being admitted there a few days ago due to cardiac arrest. He was 67 and is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter (both of who are playback singers). That he had touched the lives of many in the Tamil film industry was evident as practically the entire film community plunged into mourning on his demise.

In his long and chequered career, the singer sang over 8,000 songs in Tamil and lent his voice to several prominent actors including Shivaji Ganesan, Kamal Hasan and Rajinikanth. He has also sung over 4,000 songs in other south Indian languages and acted in nearly 85 films.
He was born as Vasudevan Nair to Keralite parents in the rubber estates of Klang Valley in Malaysia. However, Klang Valley had a predominantly Tamil population and Vasudevan grew to love the language and its cinema. His father Chathu Nair was musically inclined and he passed it on to his children. Vasudevan started his career as a singer cum actor in Tamil drama troupes in Malaysia and later moved to Madras to pursue his career in singing. Since he could sound like T M Soundarajan, he was taken by Paavalar Brothers, the troupe formed by Ilayaraja and his brothers even before the composer had entered the industry as a music director. After years of struggle, he got his first break as a singer in the film, Delhi to Madras'. He was later christened Malaysia Vasudevan by veteran director A P Nagarajan.
Vasudevan's claim to fame however, came later, with the movie 16 Vayithinile', where he sang Attukutti Muttaittu', composed by Ilayaraja, which went on to become a huge hit. "That is one of my favourite songs," said music director Deva, who had used Vasudevan's voice for several films. "Another personal favourite is the song Poonkatru Thirumpuma', which he sang for one of my movies, Mudhal Mariyadhai.'" In this song, the singer brings out a beautiful metamorphosis of emotions, as he begins the song on a sad note and ends by striking happy notes on a soaring high.
"Vasudevan and I, we have some great memories together during our tours abroad. He even had fans in European countries. I had always wanted to stage a concert in Chennai with him, singing light music songs, but that will now remain a dream," said Deva.
A visibly upset Kamal Hasan, the lead actor of 16 Vayithinile', was seen condoling the family. "He has been my friend, my voice and co-actor for many years," he told the media. "He was ill for a long time and I had recently gone with SPB to meet him." Indeed, Vasudevan has also worked as an actor alongside Kamal Hasan in several movies -- the most noted among them being Oru Kayidhinil Diary'.
Malaysia Vasudevan's signature songs were folksy village songs with a lot of emotion in them and peppy numbers in the same genre, which is also known as Dappankoothu. Ironically, Vausdevan, who started his singing in Madras as T M S's voice reached the peak of his career when he succeeded TMS as the ghost voice of veteran actor Shivaji Ganesan. Singer Mano, who has also sung several songs with him said, "He has a separate style and a unique voice which cannot be matched by any singer today."

Poser over ‘multi-millionaire’ Thanendran
I believe what Vasantha did was the right move. RS Thanenthiran came into Hindraf fold when the H5 was detained under ISA. He has nothing much except his low business restaurant in Jln Kg Benggali in Butterworth. While many NGO leaders then were restrategying in bring the Hindraf momentum, RS Thenenthiran quickly aligned with Uthayakumar and seek endorsement as one of the Hindraf coordinator. Hindraf wave included all in without checking their backgrd or even their political motive. The vacuum of Hindraf leader quicky grapped by Thanenthiran then while self exile Waythamoorthy was relaying on remote management of the movement by installation 10 man coordinator for Hindraf which I was one of them as National Event Coordinator together with RS Thanenthiran with YB Mano of MP Tk Intan, Lawyer Suren, YB Manicka, HSS Ramaji, PKR Jayathas, NGO Selvam, Brother Tarama and friend Sambulingam. RS Thanenthiran did utilised the vacuum of H5 and posses himself as Hindraf leader. While others were in ISA, he negotiate for a ADUN seat in Bkt Selambau which finally reveal his true intention as to gain political mileage while promoting rights in Hindraf. His failure to gain the seat in Bkt Selambau may eventually made him to use back the platform to negotiate with Najib. I see now how Vasanthakumar sees RS Thanenthiran as UMNO planted guy in Hindraf. We failed to see this then, including myself when I support him to form MMSP. Now after recalling events that took place, he may be planted from beginning. He was SPM leaver whom later join a Maktab to be a teacher. Not servicing long, he took 24 hrs notice to end his service with teaching. Only the teacher and Education dept knows why he took 24 hrs notice to end his service. There many scandal that been revealled later by the local Butterworth people about him inclusive of the HYO building scandal, Mariamman Chariot fund misuse, scrap metal license forgery and many more. MMSP founding member took a move to remove him as President and passed the motion of no confidence after we found his hidden agenda to "sell" Makkal Sakti. He have gone and use backdoor to endorse him. MMSP had already issue letter and notice to all including the ROS that he is not the President. As per the fasal 18(3) of Akta Pertubuhan none can enter into the internal matter of the party including the court. It is the actual people's power that change the political lanscape if Msia and Indians in last GE. We want the Makkal Sakti to be united and back on unity to against the common enemy that is BN and its cronies including RS Thanenthiran.

A former Hindraf national coordinator RS Thanendran has allegedly amassed wealth much to the shock of his ex-comrade KVasantha Kumar.
KUALA LUMPUR: How did former Hindraf national coordinator RS Thanendran, who was once an odd-job worker, become a “multi-millionaire” within a short period of time?
It’s a question which is bothering his former colleague K Vasantha Kumar.
Both have since moved out of Hindraf. Thanendran double-crossed Hindraf when Vasantah Kumar and four other Hindraf leaders were detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA).
He aligned himself with the Barisan Nasional (BN) and went on to quickly establish Malaysian Makkal Sakthi Party (MMSP), which was launched by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.
According to Vasantha Kumar, Thanendran, who was recently awarded a datukship by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, was planted by Umno to confuse the Indian community.
“He is an Umno plant to confuse the Indians. He succeeded in confusing the community. But my question is, how did he become a multi-millionaire in a short time?
“It is not possible to become a multi-millionaire overnight, especially if you know his background… I want to challenge him to an open debate. Let him clear his name,” said Vasantha Kumar who is with Kedah PKR.
According to him, Thanendran, a son of a plantation worker who at one time was doing odd-jobs to survive before he eventually ended up in the restaurant business, was now rolling in millions.
Millions revealed
Vasantha Kumar said that thousands of leaflets with details of Thanendran’s alleged wealth had surfaced in Sungai Petani during the Thaipusam festival.
According to the leaflet, Thanendran allegedly renovated his house which was worth RM800,000. He is also said to allegedly own a RM1.4 million house in Penang and a Mercedes Benz car worth RM800,000.
The leaflet also disclosed that Thanendran allegedly owned 80 hectares of an oil palm estate in Kedah, a 25-hectare land in Hulu Selangor and another 10 hectares in Bagan Pinang.
It was learnt that the federal government had awarded RM25 millions worth of contracts to Thanendran under his brother Ramesh’s name. Ramesh is also the vice-president of MMSP.
The revelation has shocked Hindraf and members of Thanendran’s own MMSP party which incidentally is mired in internal conflict.
Said Vasantha Kumar: “Thanendran must explain his wealth to the public, especially the Indians.
“He is not from a wealthy background… his family is poor. But today there are allegations that Thanendran is a multi-millionaire.
“I challenge him to a debate. Let him explain to the public and Indians about his wealth.
“I am giving him one week to reply to my challenge. If he fails to reply, I will expose his malpractice one by one,” he said.
